Talking to the Mirror by ~Trotun:iconTrotun:

people always write about mask and mannequins
as metaphors to what we conform to, and hide
behind the smiling mask is - sorrow
beneath the mannequin's fashionable exterior - hollow

smile! smile! we're all in denial =D
pose and strut! you're hallow but hot! <=3

contradicting and confusing
but it's entertaining no?

to know these things and see it
in him,
in her,
but no your

don't no one deny you don't know!
you know, you see, you hear...
and you forget

mask and mannequins
ugh, so contrite!
fed to us by churches and schools
you think of getting your act straight
align your behavior with same thoughts
and shedding thy mask
or thy superficial layer 0~:)

yest it can't be helped you go right baack
you are human - as are they
WE must conform and hid in social ways
'tis what "humans" are

Mannequins in Mask
i'm so proud of myself for knowing these things. =]

Author's Comments

A poem I wrote for my Creative Writing Exam.

I thought I'd try incorporating smiles into it after writing it because I wanted to make the sarcasm more blatant. Although now that I read back at this I wonder what exactly is my point. I kinda left it at a general idea.
